Hemp is one of the hardiest and most versatile plants. It can be refined into a variety of commercial items, including paper, textiles, biodegradable plastics, paint, insulation, biofuel, animal feed, and human nutrition. Scientists believe that humans have cultivated hemp for its nutritional, medicinal, and industrial properties for more than ten thousand years, and it is widely considered to be one of humanity’s first domesticated crops.
Production: Our hemp protein powder is made by cold-pressing whole, raw hemp seeds; a process that separates the seed from the oil to leave behind a dry, cake-like substance. This cake is then cold-milled further to produce a concentrated source of protein in powder form.
Qualities: Hemp seed provides an excellent source of protein because it contains all 21 known amino acids and, as a plant-based source of protein, stands out for being especially easy for the body to digest and absorb.
It is a rich source of B vitamins, dietary minerals such as manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, iron, and both soluble and insoluble dietary fiber.
Hemp protein powder boasts all the same nutrients as the hemp seed from which it originates. This includes a nearly perfect balance of essential amino acids (including branched-chain amino acids), which can provide increased energy and stamina during tough physical activities. It’s ideal balance of omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids plays an important role in helping the brain, heart, and immune system function well.
