CHAGA MUSHROOM, wild harvested, chunks or pieces

Shipping: Worldwide

SKU:B430-025Category: Tag: , ,
Note: Sizes of chunks/pieces may vary.
Botanical name:
 Inonotus obliquus
Origin: Canada
Production: Our chaga pieces are harvested using sustainable practices in the wild and remote forests of Eastern Canada. This means that care is taken not to damage or puncture the bark of the birch trees that host the fungi, and 30% of the chaga is left unharvested to ensure the renewal and growth of the mushroom and continued health of the ecosystem that it is a part of.
Common Use: Chaga has been traditionally used as a medicine by indigenous peoples in Russia, Europe, Asia, and North America. The most common method of consuming Chaga mushroom is to make a tea. The tea can be prepared by simmering the mushroom in water for one hour or more, a crock pot works great. The pieces can also be reused until they stop coloring the tea water with the dark brown color.  The mild-tasting tea can then be consumed on its own or as a base for other teas, coffees, and even soups. Chaga can also be tinctured in alcohol.
Storage: Store in a cool, dark, dry place in a sealed bag or container

Good quality but the large size of the chunks is unusable for making herbal tea blends. Not sure why they continue to come in these over-sized pieces. Everywhere else they are in tea cut form.
