Production: Freeze-drying (lyophilization) is a process in which water in the form of ice under low pressure is removed from foods by sublimation.
Qualities: Freeze-dried fruits have had every trace of moisture removed, making them incredibly shelf-stable and lightweight while retaining nearly all of their nutritional value.
Common Use: A delicious topping for your favorite desserts and snacks, or add them to granola and trail mixes. They can also be reconstituted with water.
Storage: Store dry and dark, in an air-tight container. Do not refrigerate or freeze. It is recommended that a desiccant pack be used in the long-term storage of this product, as it is highly sensitive to moisture.
